West Michigan native Marshawn Kneeland made his mark in the NFL, scoring his first touchdown on Monday Night Football. Kneeland, a defensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, showcased his skills by scooping up a blocked punt in the end zone, securing his team's first points of the game. This achievement holds significance, as it marks Kneeland's first touchdown since his time at Western Michigan University in 2023. Despite the Cowboys' loss, Kneeland's performance earned him recognition, with 12 tackles and a sack in nine games as a reserve lineman this season. His journey began at WMU, where he led the team in sacks as a senior and earned All-Mid-American Conference honors. Kneeland's talent was recognized early on, as he was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round, becoming the first Bronco to be selected by the NFL franchise. His impressive statistics include 149 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, and three forced fumbles across 38 games during his time with the Broncos. Prior to WMU, Kneeland excelled as an all-state defensive end and tight end, showcasing his versatility on both sides of the ball.
