I was so pleased to be asked to review the RapidBrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum, as a mum of 2 young children, it’s very rare for me to get the opportunity to go to a salon for a bit of pampering, so the next best thing for me, is to try a new ‘at home’ product, to improve the appearance of my eyebrows, which have so often been neglected over the past few years!
The RapidBrow Eyebrow Enhancing Serum arrived really quickly and was well packaged in an outer cardboard box, arriving in great condition. The product itself was in an attractively packaged outer cardboard sleeve and inside the serum tube was secured in place to stop it moving around. The serum tube looks similar in size and appearance to a mascara tube and contained 3ml of product. There was also a substantial product information and instruction leaflet included, in several different languages, listing some of the other products in the company’s range.
The packaging describes the product as an incredibly effective brow serum, formulated with an exclusive Hexatein 2 complex to help enhance the appearance of brows, stating that in as little as 1-2 months the brows will be thicker, fuller and more defined.
The product is intended to be applied twice a day, (in the morning and evening), so I started straight away, once I had removed all my make-up and ensured my face was clean, as is required. The wand is similar to those used in mascara, but about a third of the length, making it easy to apply to the full length of the brow. It was easy to know that I had covered the entirety of my brow, as you could feel and see the serum on my brow. I started the end above the bridge of my nose and worked outwards. I liked the feel of the serum on my brows and it dried pretty quickly, so I didn’t have to wait ages before applying the rest of my make-up in the morning.
At the time of my review, I have been using the serum for 6 days and as yet I haven’t noticed a visible improvement in my brows, however, this is to be expected as it is still early days and I need to use it for a few weeks more to see visible improvements in the overall appearance and condition of my eyebrows, but I am hopeful!
The serum uses the unique Hexatein 2 Complex, which is apparently a blend of 6 high performance ingredients including keratin, sweet almond extract, polypeptides, biotin, panthenol and apple fruit cell. The blend of ingredients is designed to transform the appearance of thin and uneven brows by helping to condition and moisturise each hair against breakage, giving the brows a fuller, thicker and healthier-looking appearance.
Although the product has been tested by Ophthalmologists and Dermatologists to ensure that it’s safe for contact lens wearers, there are warnings for pregnant or nursing women, people with eye-related disorders and those undergoing cancer treatments to check with their GP prior to use.
The RRP is £37, but the product is currently on sale at Look Fantastic for £29.60 (with a bonus for free UK delivery if you spend over £25). Personally, I feel the RRP is quite high and relies on the purchaser persevering for a while, to achieve the results (the literature alludes to between 91-93% of people surveyed, experiencing an improvement in the appearance of their brows within 8 weeks of use.
Also, once you’ve achieved the results you’re after (particularly if you have thinning brows, following the 90’s craze of plucking them to within an inch of their life), you will then need to repeat purchase to maintain these luscious brows. It’s not clear how long the tube of serum is designed to last and whether the initial tube will see out the first 8 weeks use or if you’ll need to buy more before you’ve started to see an improvement.
I will continue to use the serum for the next few weeks, as part of my daily morning and night-time routine and if I achieve the expected results (which I am hopeful that I will), I would be happy to purchase the product to maintain my improved brows. I would recommend the product as a perfect Valentine’s gift or even a birthday gift for the special lady in your life, particularly if they enjoy trying out different beauty products.
Rating: 4 out of 5 – a rating given based on the length of time the serum needs to be used for, to achieve the desired result for the thicker brows, it’s a shame it’s not more immediate.
